The site is 5 acres in the moderate and dry climate of northern California. The clients have been cultivating olives on this property for years before deciding to build. The primary and guest houses are situated to capture views to the west valley while enclosing an intimate court yard in the somewhat vast landscape. The rammed earth walls of the structure create a sense of permanence and control the temperature of the interior.
